Welcome to Yario ("we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Yario mobile application. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting your personal data.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: Email address, username, password (encrypted)
Profile data: Gender, age group, country, language, interests
Chat content: Messages sent within the app (AI chats and P2P chats)
Usage data: App activity, session duration, feature usage
Device info: Device model, OS version, app version
Voice data: Voice input during AI calls (processed in real-time, not stored)

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve the Yario service
To personalize your AI companion experience and memory
To enable P2P connections with other users
To translate messages between different languages
To process subscription payments via Google Play
To send important service notifications (not marketing without consent)
To detect and prevent abuse, spam, or harmful content
To comply with legal obligations

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase cloud infrastructure (hosted in Mumbai, India — ap-south-1 region). All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Authentication tokens on your device are encrypted using AES256-GCM via Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not allow advertisers to target you based on your conversations.

4. AI Conversations and Memory

Yario's AI companion stores a limited memory of your conversations to provide a more personalized experience (relationship level, emotional patterns, preferences). This data is stored securely and used only to improve your personal AI experience. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile screen.

5. P2P Communications

Messages between real users (P2P chat) are stored in our secure database to enable conversation history. Voice and video calls are transmitted via LiveKit's encrypted WebRTC infrastructure and are NOT recorded or stored by us.

Translation of messages is processed via Google Cloud Translation API. Translated content is stored alongside the original message to enable real-time multilingual conversations.

DeepInfra — AI language model processing (deepinfra.com)
LiveKit — Real-time voice and video calls (livekit.io)
Google Cloud Translation — Message translation
Google Play Billing — Subscription payments

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum necessary data with these services.

7. Age Requirement

Yario is strictly for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us immediately at privacy@abcai.chat and we will remove the account promptly.

8. Your Rights

Access: Request a copy of your personal data
Correction: Update your profile information in the app
Deletion: Delete your account from Profile → Delete Account (removes all data)
Portability: Request export of your data
Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time

9. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data, chat history, AI memories, and profile information are permanently deleted within 30 days.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of Yario after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
